Co-Founder and Investment Partner at Chrystal Capital
Kingsley has worked in the financial and investment services industry for over 24 years, spending 10 years as a capital markets research analyst focused on company analysis, portfolio construction and risk mitigation. He has spent the past 15 years advising companies on raising over US$1.7bn of capital across over 90 public and private transactions.
Over the past four years, Kingsley has advised on multiple investments for various public and private cannabinoid companies, with capital raised in excess of US$250m. He has established a deep network of investor, advisor and company relationships across the cannabis industry and is a regular speaker at industry conferences given his extensive industry knowledge and unique European perspective.
Chrystal Capital is now launching a US$200m private equity cannabis fund called Verdite Capital Fund I to invest across multiple verticals, geographies and stages in the global cannabis industry. The focus on the fund is to allow investors to participate in the significant value creation potential of the cannabis sector through an institutional grade diversified risk adjusted portfolio approach. Chrystal Capital will also shortly launch a £100m cannabis focused investment trust, listed on the London Stock Exchange, to invest in mostly European medical cannabis opportunities as that market also starts to accelerate. On the advisory side, the company continues to raise capital for cannabis companies including the recent £15m convertible for EMMAC (subsequently acquired by Curaleaf) and the £14.5m convertible for Northern Leaf.

Joel is a serial entrepreneur, investor, and a born connector who has built a career on pioneering new industries, building dynamic teams and re-defining innovation. He has been at the helm of over 10 successful start-ups and corporate exits, including one of British Columbia's top private real estate brokerages, a national first action sorts e-commerce company, a successful corporate consulting firm, and several multi-million dollar private equity funds.
