Field Service Technician (US East Coast)

Imagine, you get a call from a customer who needs support, have to book a flight and be at their site within 24 hours. Once you arrive you work with a local contractor to diagnose an electrical/refrigeration fault caused from a storm that passed through last night! Then, changing modes, you are asked to provide training to a new team member focused on providing the new employee with the knowledge and confidence to operate and maintain their Vitalis Extraction System.  This is one example of a situation in the life of our Field Service Technician.  Interested?  We are looking for a Field Service Technician on the Eastern Coast of the US to help customers install, repair, troubleshoot, maintain and train on the equipment.

  • Attend customer sites in several locations, with additional support opportunities around Canada, United States and overseas
  • When not on-site, work from home and provide remote customer support using service case management software
  • Commission new equipment and train operators on equipment at customer’s locations
  • Perform additional service tasks such as routine maintenance, extraction equipment operation, identifying technical problems and providing solutions through remote or on-site activity with the direction of the Service Manager
  • Submit all required forms, reports, and timesheets in a timely fashion
  • Control the expense budget
  • Help customers install, repair, troubleshoot, and maintain equipment
  • Work in a safe, professional manner and strive for a high quality of workmanship

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience with extraction systems an asset
  • Proven experience as a machine operator
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Are focused on delivering an exceptional customer experience
  • Enjoy the challenge of working in dynamic customer environments (Example: barn with no electricity in the middle of winter)
  • Can handle fast paced and at times stressful environments where time is money for the customer
  • Be computer literate with ability to learn service case management software
  • Experience with electrical, hydraulic or refrigeration systems preferred
  • Journeyman ticket as a licensed millwright or mechanic would be an asset
  • Reliable team player with a proactive, positive attitude and a strong work ethic
  • Must be able to lift and move up to 40 lbs/18 kg
  • Have experience reading shop/production drawings
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Have troubleshooting experience
  • Comfortable and available for international travel with a valid passport
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Eligible to work in the USA
